About Me
I’ve always loved writing and illustrating - so much so that at the age of seven, I created my first picture book called How to Become a Nurse. I still have it, though it’s now considered to be an ancient relic! Did I follow my own advice? Yes and no. After first becoming an Avon Lady (ding dong!) and a Maccas “window chick” (would you like fries with that?) I took my own seven-year-old advice and became a student nurse. No surprises there because I’d read every “nurse book romance” I could get my hands on. That’s why I blame books for the fact that there were no handsome young doctors sweeping me off my feet as promised, and I left nursing to become a teacher, then a graphic designer, a copywriter and an art director.

The writing was on the wall; books were calling me home.

In 2014, my best-selling debut picture book, Anzac Ted, was published by EK Books, followed by my second picture book in 2019: Once, I was Loved. Then in 2024, the Anzac Ted 10th Anniversary Edition was released. I was over the Moon and fond of leaping genres, I also write and illustrate Junior Fiction and YA Fantasy. These were a hoot to write, except when the characters wouldn’t stop talking! That’s when my teacher’s hat came out and I had to have a stern word!

I live on Sydney’s Northern Beaches with my family – both of the two legged and four legged variety. Not surprisingly, the four legged variety is double the trouble!
